REGISTRATION OF ACCOUNTS

There is various type of Accounts that a Company must registered after the Company is incorporated or when the Company start to employ new employees.

Registration of Accounts could be a time-consuming process and challenging if you are not familiar with the various rules, application process and which government authorities you should deal with. Any error will be rejected outright by the government authorities and you will need to re-apply the accounts’ registration again.

Following are the various types of accounts that a Company should register as well as the registration’s deadline :

APPLICATION OF WORK PASSES

Malaysia’s Work Pass application and renewal for your foreign staff can be a time-consuming process and challenging if you are not familiar with the various rules and application process set by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (IDM). Any error will be rejected outright by the IDM.

The various types of Malaysia’s work pass categories that are available for foreigners to apply include the following:

Employment Pass (EP)

Employment Pass (Category I) Expatriate

  • Monthly salary range: ≥ RM 10,000 per month
  • Duration of Employment Contract: Up to 5 years (renewable)
  • Eligible to apply for Dependent Pass (DP) for the spouse and children who ≤ 18 years old
  • Eligible to apply for Long-Term Social Visit Pass for parents or parents-in-low and children who ˃ 18 years old.

Employment Pass (Category II) Expatriate

  • Monthly salary range: RM 5,000 - RM 9,999 per month
  • Duration of Employment Contract: Up to 2 years (renewable)
  • Eligible to apply for Dependent Pass (DP) for the spouse and children who ≤ 18 years old
  • Eligible to apply for Long-Term Social Visit Pass for parents or parents-in-low and children who ˃ 18 years old.

Employment Pass (Category III) Knowledge/ Skilled Worker

  • Monthly salary range: RM 3,000 - RM 4,999 per month
  • Duration of Employment Contract: ≤ 12 months (Renewable, Maximum of 2 times renewal)
  • Not eligible to apply for DP and Long-Term Social Visit Pass for family members.
Professional Visit Pass (PVP)
  • Issued to foreign nationals who come to Malaysia for temporary work of up to 12 months, and who are still hired by a foreign company.
Temporary Employment Pass

Foreign Worker Temporary Employment Pass

  • Foreign nationals (between 18 to 45 years old) from approved countries allowed to work in the following categories: Manufacturing, Construction, Plantation, Agriculture and Services with this pass.
  • Employment duration: ≤ 5 years

Foreign Domestic Helper (FDH) Temporary Employment Pass

  • Only issued to female workers (between 21 to 45 years old) from approved countries.
  • They would work in her employer’s home, provided that the employer has young children (under 15 years old) or elderly parents who need taking care of.
  • Employment duration: 12 months (renewable)
